ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The programme offers two options. Applicants can find their own placement and accommodation (Self-Placement) or they can select the option of our sponsors finding them a placement at a price included in the programme fee (Placement Assist).

Bridge USA formerly Work and Travel USA

allows participants to work and travel for a period of up to four months (4) during the summer holidays commencing mid May through to September 7th of each programme year.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED (USA)

To register you will need to take in:

Documents to be submitted by mid-January of each programme year (student will be advised of the date for documents submission)

Pre Departure Orientation

All participants will be required to attend a pre departure Orientation which is done virtually. This is most important as there is crucial information that you will need to know in how to navigate your time in the United States. 

Please note that this is mandatory and will be provided to you via email from your Sponsor.

We do NOT guarantee a job in your choice of State but we do GUARANTEE A PLACEMENT!
Past participants on the work and travel program have worked in many different fields some of which are listed below:
Resort – maintenance, waitress/waiters, reception, driver, tennis instructor, front desk, bell desk etc. basically any position that needs to be filled in a resort setting.

Entertainment – theme parks, sporting arenas, movie houses, National Parks, restaurants, shops, bars, swimming pools, anywhere people gather to be entertained.

GLOBAL INSIGHT will endeavor to place each participant in a job position based upon his/her personality, interest and skills. This is based on job availability and will be applicable based on the first come first serve system.

However, it is very important that you are flexible about the type of work you will be doing.

Hey……..A second job is allowed!!

You can generally expect a 6-8 hour workday and a 5-6 day workweek, 35-40 hours a week.

For the most common job positions a student could earn approximately 7-10$/hour.

Most of the placements come with accommodation, if they do not we will try to assist you.

The onus is on you to locate accommodation prior to arriving in the USA or upon arrival.

Employers and overseas sponsor usually assist you with

valuable information in finding suitable housing

You do have the option of finding a job on your own.

Pre assigned job prior to leaving is compulsory.

Failure to confirm a placement may automatically disqualify you.
